AHI stands for Apnea Hypopnea Index. This is the combined number of apneas (cessations of breath) and hypopneas (restricted airway breathing), divided by the total number of minutes you have slept. The lower the number, the fewer instances of apneas and hypopneas experienced.

    • Less than 5 = Normal
    • 5-15 = Mild Sleep Apnea
    • 16-30 = Moderate Sleep Apnea
    • >30 = Severe Sleep Apnea

  • How many nights should I sleep with the home sleep test?

We require two nights with each home sleep test. ?This allows us to ensure that the data is valid and that any variability in your sleep habits from night-to-night are captured.

  • What if I have to go to the bathroom during the home sleep test?

No problem. Just proceed as normal and the test will return back to green status symbols once you lay back down in bed and ensure that the oximeter and air canulas are still connected.

  • Can I still take my prescription or OTC sleep aid during my sleep test?

Yes, you should ensure that your environment and habits matches a normal night’s sleep. This will allow for the most accurate reading on your overall sleep wellness.
